I Let You Go by Clare Mackintosh - 8.7

A rivoting read, appearing predicatable to begin with but with lots of twists and turns along the way. A real page turner with some sinnister moments. Interesting characters, well written. Many in the group are reading the book for a second time.

Me Before You by Jojo Moyes - 8.6

We enjoyed the premise and were glad she didn't shy away from the difficult ending.  We felt she dealt with the subject matter very well.  However, we found her characters a bit one dimensional and some of the tropes were a bit too much (she even notes the similarity to pygmalion/my fair lady in the conversation between to the main characters). Saying that, it drew tears, laughter and careful thought, so all in all we thought it was a good read and would recommend it.
